An organist or pianist is not available for a church service. Perhaps the regular musician is ill. You will find that a collection of congregational accompaniments from HymnServe can be downloaded and recorded in a few minutes. Also, organ and piano may be needed simply to accompany a soloist or an ensemble. Here is an example of responses we receive:
When the former pastor and our organist married and moved away, we had two options: sing with no accompaniment, or become a Karaoke church. We chose the later. However, finding hymns and/or worship and praise songs that were easy for our congregation to follow was nearly impossible. The artists were taking too many liberties with the tempo.
Our church is very small and could not pay to have an outside accompanist to assist us in the worship service. In a web search I ran across “HymnServe” and Elaine Johnson. I now have a song library of approximately fifty hymns from which I can put together a service that include mostly traditional hymns and interjecting a few of the contemporary worship and praise songs. The accompaniment is played in strict tempo making it easy for the congregation to follow.
I can recommend “HymnServe” to any small church that faces the problem of having no accompanist among the congregation and not having a budget to go outside the congregation to hire a musician.

The quality of the recording of HymnServe accompaniments is excellent. They have been recorded and edited by a nationally known company in Toledo, Ohio, Audiomatrix Recording Studios. This company has also served clients such as Samaritan's Purse, the Pat Dailey Show, and the Toledo Symphony. So it is not surprising to receive comments like this one from Indiana.
Last Sunday I tried some of the songs that I downloaded from your HymnServe and played on our church sound system. They sounded great! The quality came across much better than I expected. It would be hard to distinguish your recorded music from someone playing the piano live. I really appreciate the service you offer and will probably be ordering some more in the near future.
Thanks,

Here is note from as far away as the United Kingdom.
As I have been coordinating services at a new Unitarian congregation without any live music, services like HymnServe.com are naturally very useful - especially to download individual tunes rather than having to pay for complete CD sets.
